NPP Kathua condemns police action on students

Kathua, July 24: The National Panther Party unit Kathua held a press conference to condemn the brutal lathi charge by the police on peaceful demonstration of the students in Jammu when they were demanding the proper functioning of the central university.
While addressing the press conference district president Ravinder Singh Pathania accused the state government for adopting inhumane attitude towards the students’ long pending genuine demands for running the central university which is the democratic right of every person of the Jammu but as per the direction this coalition government the police has extended its approach to cross the limits of the legal line of action and started to terrorize the students with brutal lathicharge to curb the demand for the functioning of central university in Jammu.
He said that the union government had issued central university to many states in which one for Jammu also but due the negligence of the government the university is still on paper not in practical while the central universities in other state are functioning properly and facilitating the students.
And at last it demanded an effective inquiry must be conducted about the unnecessary brutal action of the police force upon the peaceful demonstration of the students for demanding the functioning of the central university and also warned the state government to make the central university functional other wise JKNNP would launch a massive statewide agitation.
In the press conference Atul Choudhary, Rakesh Thakur, Balbinder Singh and others were also present.
