| 120 kilogram bhuki recovered, one held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, July 25: Police seized 120 kilogram Bhuki (Poppy Straw) and arrested one
narcotic smuggler carrying the narcotic substance concealed in three bags here at Reshamgarh Colony under the jurisdiction of Bakshi Nagar Police Station in the wee hours of Sunday.
The accused was identified as Ranjeet Singh son of Barkam Singh of Miran Sahib . Reports said that a gypsy of anti gunda squad on suspicious basis frisked a truck bearing registration number JK02AG/2730 that was parked at Reshamgarh Colony and recovered the consignment.
During interrogation he told police that he was cleaner of the truck and was waiting for the driver who had gone somewhere after parking the vehicle. The consignment was brought from Srinagar, he told police.
The accused was booked under 8/15 Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPSA) and manhunt has been launched to arrest the driver of the vehicle.
