VREA demands 126 slab COLA | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 24: A meeting was held by the J&K State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) Volunteer Retirement Employees Association (VREA), Jammu under the leadership of Raj Bali and S. Suriender Singh, president and general sectary respectively in which the adamant attitude of the Finance Department, J&K government and J&K SRTC management was strongly criticized for not releasing due drawn bills including 126 slab COLA w.e.f. 2006- 2010. Further they stated that in the Board of Directors meeting held on September 2010 in which 126 slab of COLA have been duly approved and implemented in the month of November 2010 for the in-service employees of J&K SRTC where it has been given to the VRS on January 31st, 2010 and the COLA which is approved w.e.f 2006- 2010 they were on duty for this period and the same is being implemented to them then why they are being backed out by the concerned authorities. As per the press release if the before 31st of July the same is not implemented in their favour they will go for dharna at the Press Club Jammu w.e.f 1st of August 2011. The members of the association has also criticized the retirement age to increase from 58 years to 60 as this may effect badly the unemployment youth of the state which has crossed for lakhs. The others demands raised in the meeting were CP fund interest which amounts to rupees 23,28494, implementation of 6th pay commission w.e.f 01.01. 2006 and time bound promotion.
