Review medical status before embarking on yatra: SASB | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, July 24: Chief Executive Officer of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), R. K. Goyal, said today that as per the Meteorological Department’s weather forecast for 25th July to 29th July: it would be generally cloudy sky on 25th – 26th July, partly cloudy on 29th July and there is a possibility of light rain/thundershowers on 27th – 28th July, 2011, in the Kashmir Division. Goyal has advised all those who intend to visit the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji to ascertain the obtaining weather conditions in the Yatra area before embarking on the pilgrimage. The details of weather forecast are available on the website of the Indian Meteorological Department, at (www.amssdelhi.gov.in). The CEO reiterated that the Board has, time and again, issued a detailed advisory of Do’s and Don’ts for the Yatris visiting the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji, which are also printed on the reverse of the Yatra Permit and, besides, available on the Board’s website. He said that the Yatris need to strictly adhere to these Do’s and Don’ts, as they have to undertake an arduous trek through high mountains under adverse weather conditions and advised the Yatris not to take any risk whatsoever. Goyal has once again reiterated his appeal to all those who intend to undertake the pilgrimage to the Holy Cave Shrine of Amarnath to obtain a Yatra Permit before embarking on the pilgrimage to avoid facing serious inconvenience on arrival in the State. He emphasized that the pilgrims must embark on the Yatra strictly as per the dates and the routes specified in their Yatra Permits, clarifying that instructions had been issued to ensure against any unregistered Yatri being allowed to proceed towards the Holy Cave, under any circumstances. The CEO also urged all intending pilgrims to have them medically examined and no one with an orthopaedic problem, chest or lung ailment or any cardiac deficiency should venture to undertake the arduous Yatra, involving trekking upto 14,000 feet. The CEO further said that the Yatra to the Holy Cave Shrine is progressing satisfactorily on both the Baltal and Chandanwari routes since today morning.
