Bhalla dedicates Rs 1.40 cr tube well at Deeli village

JAMMU, July 24: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla on Sunday inaugurated 270 meter deep drill 22000 gallon discharge capacity tube well, commissioned at an estimated cost of Rs.1.40 crore including laying of water supply pipes in uncovered areas of Adarsh Vihar and Sain Vihar besides drilling of electrical and mechanical sub-station and civil works.
After inaugurating the tube well, Bhalla addressed a gathering and said on the commissioning of tube well, a populace of 11800 souls of Adarsh Vihar, Sain Vihar, Deeli village, Danger, Charak Mohalla, Kashmiri Mohalla, Swagat Vihar and Greater Kailash would get relief from drinking water scarcity. For improving the drinking water facilities in Adarsh Vihar and Sain Vihar, he asked the PHE department to immediately start the digging works for laying of water supply pipes in uncovered areas of the localities so that the alternate supply of drinking water could provided to the residents daily. He asked the executing agency to complete all the allied works within week time for the benefit of the residents.
Responding to the demand of locals, the Minister asked the PHE department to replace all the worn-out of the areas within 10 days.
He said Government has also identified a peace of land for construction of 25000 gallon storage capacity Over Head Tank in Deeli village adding that with the construction of OHT, there is no scarcity of drinking water in the area. Regarding construction of all lanes and drains in Deeli village, he asked the concerned department to prepare estimates and submit the same for funding so that the construction works could be started after completing tendering formalities.
At Gandhi Nagar Extension, the Minister laid foundation stone of recreational park, coming up at an estimated cost of Rs. 35 lakh with facilities of walkway, landscaping, illumination and seating arrangements.
