JURSF threatens indefinite shutdown of Jammu University | | | EARLY TIMES report Jammu, July 24: Jammu University Research Scholars Forum has criticized the role of cabinet ministers, MPs and MLAs representing Jammu for their anti-Jammu behavior. They should resign as they are incapable of raising voice for their own region. Jammu is lagging behind in every field because of weak and uneducated representation in the Assembly and in the Parliament for the last sixty four years. They are befooling the masses in the name of Central University Jammu continuously. We directly ask the Chief Minister that why the Central University has not yet been opened here in Jammu, said Suresh Ajay Magotra, the president of the Forum. “The Vice-Chancellor who had been appointed for the Centre University Jammu has not been able to join for whatever reason, but this does not mean that there is no other academician eligible for the post”, the president said. He said that some anti-Jammu elements of Kashmir centric govt. of Jammu and Kashmir spoke from different fronts regarding the issue just to linger it or deflate it. The people of Jammu are facing discrimination from the state and central govt. from the last 64 years. Nobody listens to the people of Jammu and redresses their problems. Hereby we appeal to the HRD ministry to take substantial action as soon as possible as this is crime that center is doing with the people and student of the Jammu region while the political representative here are busy plundering public resources. He appealed to all students and social organizations of the Jammu province to come and unite under a common front led by scholars and students community and fight for result oriented movement. In the coming days JURSF may go to the extent of indefinite shutdown of educational institutions, if required, he warned. JURSF also strongly condemned the brutal lathi charge on the innocent students who were peacefully raising the demand of the Central University Jammu. Parduman Singh, Jeet Singh, Sunil sharma, Kapil Sharma and students leader Nasib Ali addressed the joint press conference.
