| SBI holda DLRC / DCC MEET | | |
JAMMU, Nov 29 State Bank of India (Lead bank office) Jammu today organized the quarterly meeting of District Level Review Committee(DLRC) / District Consultative Committee(DCC) of various Banks for the quarter ending September 2006 for Jammu district. The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Shri Hirdesh Kumar Singh, District Development Commissioner, Jammu. In his welcome address, Sh.R.K.Kaul, Chief Manager, (Lead Bank) State Bank of India gave an account of Bank’s performances in the Jammu district during the second quarter of the current financial year. He informed that disbursement of Rs.231.33 crores was made under Priority Sector up-to the quarter ending September 2006 as against Rs.207.61 crores made during the corresponding period of last year registering an increase of Rs.24 crores. Sh.Kaul disclosed that the Credit Deposit ratio stood at 38.05% as against 32.47% as on 30th September,2005 thereby registering a spectacular growth of 5.58%. Speaking on the occasion, Sh.Hirdesh Kumar Singh, District Development Commissioner, Jammu lauded the role of some major banks Viz SBI, Punjab National Bank, Canara Bank, Syndicate Bank and Ellaquai Dehati Bank etc. He exhorted the Banks/Line Departments to work in close coordination and make the Employment Generation and Poverty Alleviation Programmes launched by Government of India/Reserve Bank of India successful. He exhorted upon the Banks to make all out efforts for achieving 60% Credit Deposit Ratio which is the benchmark set up by Reserve Bank of India. Sh.Kaul regretted that it is unfortunate that Bank Heads do not attend such important meetings. He urged the Bank Heads to attend such meeting themselves as some vital decisions are taken in these meetings. Sh.Singh stressed the need for issuing Kisan Credit Cards to all eligible farmers and called upon Private Sector Banks not to hesitate in providing credit under Government Sponsored Schemes. The District Development Commissioner joined by Sh.R.K.Kaul, Lead Bank Officer urged all the banks to strengthen Service Area Monitoring Information System(SAMIS) and asked them to ensure that accurate data is submitted to Lead Bank Office and user departments promptly. During the District Consultative Meeting(DCC), which was also held simultaneously today, Credit Plan for the Year 2007-08 amounting to Rs.521.04 crores was tabled before the House and the same was unanimously approved by the House. |
