Spiritual guru inaugurates meditation centre, website | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July 24: Revered spiritual guru and founder of Art of Living Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in a ceremony inaugurated Maa Sharika Meditation centre besides launching the newly designed website of Hindu Education society Kashmir (hesk.in) here on Saturday. Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla was the chief guest on the occasion. Before joining the inauguration ceremony Sri Sri Ravi Shankar arrived here from Srinagar and was accorded warm welcome by the management of the Hindu Education society Kashmir (HESK) at the Jammu airport. On reaching college campus Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was given rousing reception by the large number of eminent guests, members of the Hindu education society, and staff members of the college. During his maiden visit to the college campus Sri Sri Ravi Shankar also laid foundation stone of the new library block and relaunched new look website of Gandhi Memorial College of Education, Jammu (gmcejammu.in). Sri Sri Ravi Shankar also went around the college campus and was briefed about various academic initiatives and future vision of the society by HESK president Anil Dhar. General Secretary HESK S. Misri and other members of the society namely Meenakshi Kilam,Bimal Tikoo, MK Bangroo, GK Muju were also present on the occasion along with college Principal Kusum Tikku and senior faculty members. Welcoming the spiritual guru president, HESK, Anil Dhar said, "The entire management of the HESK feel privileged to be in the company of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and seek his blessings for the success of future ventures". "Together with you we want to embark on new journey and spread the message of peace, brotherhood and prosperity in the state",said Anil Dhar. Anil Dhar also briefly traced the history of the Hindu Education Society Kashmir and informed the august house that Hindu Education Society Kashmir was established by few philanthropic Kashmiri Hindus in 1943 with an objective to impart high quality academic institution to deserving and aspiring Kashmiri students. In his brief address Anil Dhar said I bow before the stalwarts of the Kashmiri Pandit community present here and take this opportunity to acknowledge their indomitable spirit which is driving us to follow the path of excellence in every field of work. Anil Dhar said despite suffering the trauma of migration Kashmiri Pandits resurfaced and bounced back to acquire their respectful place in the society. He said it is Kashmiri Pandits who really know the art of living and have shown it to the entire world. Dhar also greeted Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla on the occasion and hailed his efforts specially taking care of the needs of the Kashmiri migrants and their rehabilitation. He said Raman Bhalla has always stood behind the community members in their time of need and has lent his voice to their sufferings. Addressing the august house Sri Sri Ravi Shankar lauded the role of Hindu Education society Kashmir in the field of imparting education and urged the Kashmiri Pandit community to open more and more educational institutions in Kashmir valley to retain their ethnic character. He said due to special status of J&K outsiders can not purchase land and open centers of learning but we are ready to support and help others who want to run such world class institutions. He also appealed to the Kashmiri Pandit community to unite on one platform and ascertain their minority status in the state.
