| Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy script a musical Day 6 at IFFI 2006 | | | Goa,Nov 29 The 37th International Film Festival of India (IFFI 2006) continued the trend of associating incredible films with breathtaking musical performances on Day 6 as well. Stealing the show today was the terrific trio of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy who put up a splendid concert at the NIWS Ground, Caranzalem. The ground was packed with thousands of fans and delegates who had gathered well before the scheduled time to catch the performance. The accompanying confetti blasts and the light and sound effects lent a snazzy look to the evening that can at least be termed thoroughly enjoyable and memorable. A lot of action was seen on the movies front too, with the screening of North Wind (Switzerland), The Tracker (Australia), Live! (The Netherlands), Birds of Heaven (France) and Mama Jack (South Africa) among several others. Indian cinematic excellence was amply exemplified in the Indian films screened today. These included Hope (Tamil), Eakantham (Malayalam), Parineeta - the Married Woman (Hindi) and the NDFC 'Down the Ages' screening - Marupakkam. A documentary on Hrishikesh Mukherjee by director U.B Mathur was also featured as a tribute to the legendary filmmaker. Several prominent personalities attended Day 6 to introduce their movies including actors Rahul Bose, Raima Sen, Rituparna Sengupta and director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury of Anuranan (Bengali) that was screened today. Day 6 at IFFI 2006 also saw Nafisa Ali, Mike Pandey and others who spoke about the films by the Children's Film Society, India. Vibhu Puri, director of Chabi Waali Pocket Watch and the film's cast was also present.
