CEO advises Yatris to check weather forecast before embarking on pilgrimage | Shri Amarnathji Yatra-2011 | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar July 25: As per the Meteorological Department’s weather forecast for 26th July to 30th July: it would be partly cloudy with light rain/thundershowers on 26th July, rain/thundershower is expected on 29th July, there is a possibility of few spells of rain/thundershower, heavy at some places, on 30th July and sky is expected to be generally cloudy on 27th – 28th July, 2011, in the Kashmir Division.
R. K. Goyal, Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, has once again advised all those who intend to visit the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji to ascertain the obtaining weather conditions in the Yatra area before embarking on the pilgrimage.
The details of weather forecast are available on the website of the Indian Meteorological Department, at (www.amssdelhi.gov.in).
The CEO also urged all intending pilgrims to have themselves medically examined and no one with an orthopaedic problem, chest or lung ailment or any cardiac deficiency should venture to undertake the arduous Yatra, involving trekking upto 14,000 feet.
Goyal said that the Yatra to the Holy Cave Shrine is progressing satisfactorily on both the Baltal and Chandanwari routes since today morning.
