CII facilitates healthcare study mission in Delhi | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT New Delhi, July 25: The Indian healthcare sector is predicted to reach US$ 280 billion by 2020, contributing an expected Gross Domestic Product (GDP) spend of 8 per cent by 2012 from 5.5 per cent in 2009. Private hospitals and continued investment in public health programmes are driving the boom.
With demand expected to outstrip supply over the next decade, the role for private medical care providers is set to increase Healthcare delivery, which has traditionally been dominated by smaller players in the private sector, charitable trusts and government, is increasingly seeing the consolidation and entry of big corporate players. The development in this sector will impact the entire gamut of segments including health delivery, health insurance and healthcare consultancy.
In keeping with the Confederation’s initiative to share Best Practices Management of Healthcare Centers, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)J&K State Council organised a two-day Healthcare Study Mission to Fortis Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre , Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Super Religare Laboratories Limited, and Dr Lal Path Labs
The visit to each organisation included a meeting with the top management, presentations, discussion / interactions and visit to facilities specific areas of healthcare infrastructure and healthcare delivery.
The objective of the mission was to provide an opportunity to professionals from various organisations to get a direct feel of best practices and give them an insight into the practical aspects of implementing these practices in their respective centers and to boost quality of Healthcare Infrastructure in India
