| Enforce financial code for perfect fiscal discipline: DG | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Jul 25: Director General, Accounts and Treasuries Wali Mohammad Bhat has stressed on strict enforcement of financial code to bring perfect fiscal discipline at the grass root level.
He said this while addressing meetings and training workshops with Accounts, Treasury and other District Officers during his 3-day tour of Leh and Kargil districts. Director General impressed upon the officers to maintain account books strictly in accordance with laid down codal procedures. He asked them to be punctilious while incurring expenditure and forbade creation of liabilities at the cost of public exchequer.
Bhat conveyed the concern of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) over non- rendition of DRC accounts. He said CAG has also shown concern on non- compilation of accounts by the Hill Development Council of Leh and Kargil and directed DDOs and HoDs to compile the accounts on priority.
The Director General on the request of DDCs of Leh and Kargil assured that cash requirement for development programmes will be met regularly to ensure continuity in the development activities in Ladakh region. Both the Deputy Commissioners of Leh and Kargil thanked the Director General for organising training workshops, which they said will be of great help in efficient fiscal management.
