Amendment ‘undesirable’ for Panchayati Raj unfortunate: Jugal | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July 25: Terming it as undesirable for any amendment in the Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj act 1989 in the context of 73rd constitutional amendment (Together with 11th Schedule of the constitution of India) before the next elections to the Panchayats, unfortunate, Jugal Kishore Gupta-president of Jammu Kashmir Panchayat Parishad (JKPP) said the issue shall be taken up with the Govt. to reconsider their views as most of the states have done this exercise in the larger interest of panchayati Raj institutes.
Every effort must be made to strengthen 3 tiers of parliament , said Jugal.
It was resolved in the meeting to submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister through divisional commissioner Srinagar/Jammu and also a copy shall be submitted to Subodh Kant, Union Minister for Tourism and President all India Panchayat Parishad Delhi.
The meeting was attended among others by Gopal Dass Sharma member AIPC, Joginder Singh president Distt. Kathua, Ranjeet Singh Pathania President Distt Samba and Balkar Singh Jamwal, Sunny Sambyal and Yog Raj Singh Charak Block presidents for Parmandal Samba and Vijaypur respectively and Rajeev Dutta Press Secretary.
