| Widening of Jammu- Rajouri – Poonch road demanded | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, July 25: Senior Congress leader and former Legislator Ashok Sharma has demanded widening and up-gradation of Jammu - Rajouri - Poonch road as a 4- Lane Highway to provide improved connectivity to the twin border Districts for opening up these for speedy socio economic and tourism development.
Sharma also urged for construction of 48 kms National Highway by-pass from Siot to Rajouri via Kalakote and handing over it to GREF for early completion.
He while welcoming the launching of work on two important tunnels from Chenani to Nashri and Banihal to Qazigund today on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, also stated that it will not only shorten the distance between the capital cities but also ensure speedy movement of commuters and goods, benefiting the people of the State.
He also urged for bringing Rajouri and Poonch Districts on the rail map of the country.
