Rs 70 lakh Kashav Bhawan at Nai Basti soon:Bhalla | Asks officers to mitigate people’s problems on priority | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July 25: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla has asked the officers to reach weaker sections of the society and mitigate their hardships on priority.
The Minister warned the officers against any laxity with regard to the solving of problems of the poor lot adding that any complaint in this regard would invite strict action against the delinquent officers and officials.
This was stated by minister while listening the problems of the residents of Nai Basti, Rampura and Ashok Nagar during his visit to the localities, here today.
On the occasion, various deputations apprised the Minister about the developmental demands of their respective areas. They appreciated the Minister for taking keen interest in executing various development works in his constituency.
The Minister informed that the massive development in various sectors like health, PHE, PDD, R&B, RDD, Education, etc has been registered in the state because of tireless efforts of the coalition government. He said that the state government was committed to provide all basic amenities to the people of the state at their door steps.
To improve the power scenario in Shastri Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Gandhi Nagar and Nai Basti and other adjoining areas, Bhalla informed that Government has earmarked Rs. 3.26 crore for construction of 10 MVA 33/11 KV Receiving Station at Shastri Nagar adding that the project is stipulated to be completed in September this year.
The Minister said Government has earmarked Rs. 70 lakh for developing Vijay Park in Rampura and 200 meter available space on the edge of Nai Basti nallah as recreational park. He said the parks would be developed on modern lines by providing illumination, seating, drinking water and landscaping facilities. He asked the executing agency to complete the ongoing works of the parks within stipulated time frame.
He asked the people not to encroach open spaces in their localities adding the places are totally meant for construction of public properties.
For facilitating the people of Shastri Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Gandhi Nagar and its adjoining areas, Mr. Bhalla informed that Government has earmarked Rs. 4.70 crore for construction of parking slot near cremation ground Shastri Nagar by covering the Landoi Choi nallah adding that after dedication of parking slot to the people, the traffic congestion of the Shastri Nagar-Sanjay Nagar road would be solved to a large extent.
Responding to the people’s demands, Bhalla announced Rs. 5 lakh for upgradation of lanes and drains at Nai Basti near Ram Lila ground.
He asked the JMC to prepare estimate for remaining streets and drains and submit the same for funding so that the upgradation works could be started.
The Minister also inspected the ongoing construction work of Rs. 70 lakh Kashav Bhawan at Ram Leela Chowk in Nai Basti. He informed the people that double-storey multipurpose community hall would be constructed on modern lines adding that after dedication the place, the people of the area would arrange social as well as religious functions there on minimal fee.
