| Jugal reviews watershed, Haryali works in Doda district | | |

Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma reviewed pace of work on watershed development and Haryali programmes in Doda district at a meeting held here last evening.
Former Minister Mr. Mohammad Sharief Niaz, Special Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr. Shalinder Kumar, Secretary Rural Development, Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda and other officers of various departments attended the meeting.
Addressing the officers the Minister stressed for strict adherence of the prescribed guidelines while executing works taken under Haryali and watershed development programme with involvement of public at large scale. He said the main objective of convening the meeting today was to initiate steps and stop the soil erosion caused at large scale in Bhalessa and Neeru. He also enjoined officers to organize awareness camps in their areas and ensure involvement of public in execution of these works as envisaged under the guidelines prescribed for the purpose.
Mr. Jugal asked the officers of different departments to prioritize the execution of works in constructing concrete protection bunds and walls at the selected places along side of Neeru nallah to be identified in consultation with the concerned MLA. He also urged upon the officers to submit the utilization certificates of the works done under the Haryali and watershed development programmes which will facilitate to get the second installment from the centre.
