| SHO Akhnoor attached, two constables suspended | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU: Station House Officer Akhnoor was attached with District Police Lines, Jammu and two constables were placed under suspension for negligence of duty following a murder suspect gave slip to police in late hours of Sunday.
Police sources giving information said that one Som Nath alias Sonu, a history sheeter, resident Kashmiri Basti was lifted by Akhnoor police for questioning as a part of investigation of murder of Jhelum Singh of Naiwala, however, the suspect escaped from the police custody.
Taking cognizance of the matter, SSP Jammu Anand Jain attached SHO Akhnoor Naresh Sharma to District Police Line and ordered transfer of Inspector Mahesh Sharma as SHO Akhnoor from Police Station Domana. He also placed two constables under suspension besides ordered inquiry into the incident. The inquiry is to be conducted by SDPO Akhnoor Mushtaq Choudhary, who will submit the report shortly, sources informed. |
