Former minister sues SP Operations for encroaching land | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 25: An alleged case of land encroachment by a senior police officer has come to light in the outskirts of the city at Veer Sainik Colony. Ruling over an interim application filed by former Minister Prem Sagar Aziz seeking stay on construction work undertaken by SP Operations Pawan Parihar in Plot Nos 5 and 6 at Sainik Colony, the Court of Sub Judge Jammu has temporarily restrained the police officer from raising any sort of structure over the encroached portion of the pathway leading to the house of the applicant. A case was filed against the SP Operations Pawan Parihar by former minister alleging that the police officer has encroached upon two roads including 24 feet wide road leading to his plot. In his complaint he alleged that police officer, who bought two plots i.e. plot no 5 and 6 from one Usha Kumari alias Parveen Lata widow of 2nd Lieutenant Paras Ram at Veer Sainik Colony against rule and law of Sainik Cooperative House Building Society Ltd. Aziz in his plea further alleged that during the process of construction of his residential house, the said police officer encroached upon two roads and has erected walls in front of proposed gates of the corner plot of his. He alleged that in stead of repeatedly request police officer did not mend his ways and blocked roads. He alleged that as per society's norms the plots issued to the war widows could not be transferable at any cost. He also demanded probe and demolition of the walls. Acting on the complaint court directed cop to restrain from raising any sort of construction over the encroached portion of the pathway leading to the house of the applicant till the next date of hearing on July 29. The Court also directed the cop to file objections in the next date of hearing. However, when contacted SP Pawan Parihar alleged that former Minsiter has encroached 18 feet wide road adding that a team of Jammu Municipal corpaortiaon as well as Sainik Board officials also inspected the spot and found nothing illegal was done by him. |
