| Sagar inaugurates Pashmina and Wool Weavers Centre at Roop-Nagar | | | Jammu, Nov 29 Minister of State for Revenue, Finance and Planning Mr. Prem Sagar Aziz inaugurated Pashmina and Wool weavers centre in the Private Sector at Roop-Nagar here today. After inaugurating the centre Mr. Sagar said that the handloom products have ample scope in the market and ask the management to encourage the weavers in order to meet the growing demands of the people. He said that younger generation should have to adopt the embroidery trade saying that Government cannot absorb all the unemployed youth in Government Services. Mr. Sagar said that Khadi and Village Industry Board (KVIB) has set up counters in the state with a view to provide loan facilities as well as subsidy for exhibiting new small trades in villages and can had loan upto Rs. 20 lakh for setting up of their own looms. Director Handloom Mrs. Nirmala Sharma in her address on the occasion said that Department is running number of Centres in far-flung areas benefiting rural populace. She said that for establishing of a centre in rural area, the Central and State Government has provided Rs. 7000 each while Rs. 4000 has to be invested by the entrepreneur. Similarly, in the case of urban area Rs. 10,000 each is made available by the Government, while Rs. 8000 would be invested by the entrepreneur for setting up of a unit. Later, the Minister went round and inspected various units. The organization presented a Shawl to the Minister as a token of respect. Among others ex-Directors of Handloom, Deputy Director Handloom and Corporators of the area were also present on the occasion. |
