DDB decisions yet to be implemented in Doda constituency: Wani | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Jul 26: Senior leader of congress Party and MLA from Doda constituency Abdul Majid Wani today said that most of the decisions and recommendations of district development board meetings of Doda District have not been implemented. In a handout issued here today, it has been stated that implementation of recommendations and decisions taken in district development board meetings should have become a priority as well as a guiding factor for government. He added that it could not become possible because of serious negligence by few government functionaries. Wani requested Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for issuing directions to all government functionaries including DDCs, administrative secretaries and the HODs for immediate implementation of all pending decisions and recommendations taken in District Development Board meetings of Doda district, right from year 2005. And the MLAs should also be kept informed about progress of the same, by these government functionaries, on fortnightly basis. Apart from this, Wani also highlighted urgent issues related to growth & development of Doda district. Wani demanded restoration/reconstruction of forests huts damaged due to fire and militancy in upper reaches like Lal Draman, Dal Draman and Manjimi and construction of inspection paths, forest roads, foot-bridges and bridle paths in forest areas. Opening of separate Government Degree College for Women at District Head Quarters Doda and four new Government Degree Colleges in backward rural education zones viz., Bhagwah Dessa, Baghla Bharath, Goha Marmat and Mohalla Gundna is the other prominent demand of public of Doda constituency. Work for construction of mini hydro-electric-projects for feeding local areas with a capacity of 1.5 mw to 06 mw on Dessa Nala, Ragi Nala, Bharat Nalla and Shoonsh Nallah in Doda constituency may kindly be taken up at war footing. Detailed project reports of these projects though finalized have not been tendered as yet.
