JSM criticizes BJP’s stand before interlocutors | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jul 26: In a meeting of Jammu State Morcha held under the chairman ship of its president Virender Gupta, members were critical of the stand taken by Bhartiya Janta party before the Kashmir Committee and the interlocutors asking for Provincial Councils for Jammu and Kashmir regions. Gupta said that during the elections, BJP in its manifesto talked about political empowerment of Jammu region with separate legislature, separate Chief Minister, separate administrative structure and financial powers. It added that the party has always tried to hoodwink the people on one pretext or the other without providing them any relief from the injustice they are facing at the hands of the Kashmiri rulers. The attitude of BJP, that is protagonist of smaller states, instrumental in the creation of Jharkhand, Uttrakhand and Chhatisgarh states and supports the Separate Telangana State and asks for Union Territory status for Ladakh region, is discriminatory and step motherly against Jammu region, said Gupta. He maintained that Jammu province cannot get justice in any political set up so long it remains part of Jammu and Kashmir State. |
