| J & K Police organizes week long volleyball tournament | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Jul 26: ADGP Armed/L&O, J&K, K. Rajendra Kumar inaugurated week long volleyball tournament at Baramulla yesterday. T
Tournament has been organized by J&K Police in collaboration with Sports Council Baramulla under Civic Action Programme. Twenty teams of the District Clubs are participating in the week long tournament from July 25 to 31, 2011.
While addressing the inaugural function, the ADGP Armed/L&O highlighted various activities being carried out by J&K Police for the benefit of youth under its Civic Action Programme. He said that recently J&K Police organized a cycling race on July 23, 2011 at Srinagar in which a large number of youth participated that J&K Police is organizing “Jashan-e-Dal” at Dal Lake, Srinagar from July 29 to 31, 2011.
These sports events are being organized by J&K Police across the state to boost the morale of sports lovers and promotion of sports in the state the ADGP said. Opening match of tournament was played between Chinnad Volley Ball Club & Nowpora Jageer.
Among others, the function was attended by Senior Officers of civil/Police Administration which include IGP Armed/IR, Kashmir, Shri Rauf-ul-Hassan, DIG, Baramulla, Shri Muneer Ahmad Khan, DIG (Trgs) APHQ, Shri A.Q. Manhas, DIG IR, Kashmir Shri K.L. Bhagat and Staff Officer to ADGP Armed/L&O besides a large number of sports lovers, students and local people of the area.
