Tarigami stresses for strict implementation of Govt assurances

Jammu, Nov 29
A meeting of the committee on government Assurances w as held today here in the lobby of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly under the chairmanship of Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami Member Legislative Assembly.
Legislators Mr. Mohammad Sayeed Akhoon, Mohammad Yaseen Shah, Mr. Kafeel-ur-Rehman, Mr. Raman Bhalla and Mr. Garu Ram besides Commissioner/Secretary Public Works Department Mr. Atul Daloo and senior officers of Assembly Secretariat and R&B department, representatives of JKPCC, LAWDA and Housing Board attended the meeting.
The meeting examined the implementation of the assurances held out on the floor of the Legislature from time to time pertaining to the public works department.
Speaking on the occasion, the chairman of the committee stressed to ensure the implementation of the commitments made by the government on various matters. He asked to maintained proper records of the assurances to inform the house as well Assurance Committee, so that proper accountability is ensured. He also sought detailed status report of the R&B department before ensuing session. Chairman asked the Commissioner Secretary R&B to submit a detailed report with regard to the measures taken by the government for development of capital cities of Jammu and Srinagar.
Members apprised the meeting about their view point with regard to the functioning of the R&B department.
Commissioner Secretary R&B giving details of the schemes presently under progress in the state, informed that Rs 150 crore would be incurred under the R&B sector during this fiscal year, while as more than 2500 schemes are under progress. It was also given out that 270 projects costing Rs 450 crore funded by NABARD stands sanctioned and the projects are under implementation. Under PMGSY 108 road projects at a cost of Rs 184 crore are in progress in the state, the meeting was told.
