| Tehsildar thrashes handicapped person | | | SAAHIL SUHAIL

‘KOKERNAG, July 26: A 21 year’s old handicapped person was allegedly beaten and injured by Tehsildar Kokernag in his office.
“21 year’s old boy Sheta son of Ghulam Ahmad Tantary, resident of Watnad today visited office of Tehsildar Kokernag during office hours. As he requested officer to sign the file, he refused leading to fight between Tehsildar and the handicapped person.” said Panch of the village Watnad adding that the Tehsildar beat the person with a stick that remains always with him.
Panch said that when another person namely Ghulam Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Gani Wani, resident of Nawpora tried to pacify the two. Even, he was beaten. Panch also said that injured person has visited the office many times. He also said that injured persons were shifted to Kokernag Hospital.
Tehsildar Kokernag, Muzaffer Ahmad Malik when contacted refuted the allegations. However, Kokernag police has registered an FIR 125/ 452, 332 RPC in this regard and initial investigation has been started. Station House officer Kokernag, when contacted said, “We have lodged an FIR in this regard and investigations have started. The duo misbehaved with Tehsildar. That is itself a crime. He also confirmed that none of the persons was injured.”
