| Doda gets Rs. 87.35 cr Annual Plan for the year 2011-12 | | Sham calls for tapping of potential sectors | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
DODA, JULY 26- The District Development Board Doda that met here today under the Chairmanship of Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture Mr Sham Lal Sharma, approved an annual plan of Rs. 87.35 crore for the district which include Rs 35.15 crore as Revenue component and Rs 52.20 crore as capital component.
Member Legislative Council, Mr Khalid Najib Sohrawardy, District Development Commissioner Doda Mr Farooq Ahmed Khan, SSP Doda Mr Varinder Sharma, besides Heads of Departments, District and Sectoral officers attended the meeting.
While welcoming the Chairman and the members of the Board, District Development Commissioner Doda, Mr. Farooq Ahmed Khan gave a power point presentation of the plan performance during 2010-11 and proposed allocation for the year 2011-12.
The DDC said that district comprises of 4 Tehsils and 8 Blocks with 406 villages and 231 Panchayats. DDC apprised the meeting that against approved outlay of Rs. 77.86.cr last fiscal, the district recorded an expenditure of Rs.77.03.crore which amounts to 99.96 percent of the total allocations.
While presenting the detailed proposed allocations under various sectors the year 2011-12, DDC said that an outlay of Rs 39.75 laKhs has been proposed for Agriculture , Rs 18.49 lacs Animal Husbandry, Rs 13.11 lacs Sheep Husbandry, Rs. 60.11 lakh for DPAP, Rs. 8.74 lacs for Horticulture, Rs. 867.10 Lacs R&B, 461.60 lacs for NREGA, Rs. 428.49 for Minor Irrigation, Rs. 34.50 lakh for Power (T&D), Rs 365.86 lacs Health, Rs. 1182.80 lacs for PHE, Rs. 4354.52 lacs Education, Rs. 286.00 lacs for Nutrition, Rs. 187.24 lacs for Self Employment, Rs. 12.93 lacs Social Forestry and Rs. 38.36 SGSY (IRDP).
The DDC also gave a resume of achievements recorded under various Centrally sponsored Flagship programmes . it was revealed that during the year 2010-11 Rs. 5521.69 lacs were allocated under MGNREGA in the District and 7975 sanctioned works were taken up out of which 5836 works were completed, while work on 2139 is going on.
The DDC said that the proposed allocation for the year 2011-12 is Rs. 11107.78 lacs under the MGNREGA scheme for which 11722 new works have been identified. DDC also revealed that under RGGVY 121 Substations (11/440 KV substations) have been proposed to be established during the year 2011-12. He said that 10 New Primary Schools Buildings and 219 Additional Class Rooms for 67 Upper Primary Schools are proposed to be constructed under Sarva Shiksha Abhyan (SSA) in the District.
