BJP reacts to Pak minister’s meeting with Hurriyat leaders | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July 27: Bhartiya Janta Party has strongly reacted to Pakistan Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar’s meeting with Hurriyat leaders and said “it is a matter of serious concern that the foreign minister of Pakistan currently on her India visit chose to hold a close door meeting with the Kashmir Hurriyat Conference leaders even before her scheduled official meeting with the Foreign Minister of India and the Congress-led UPA government remained a mute spectator”. State President Shamsher Singh Manhas along with national executive member & chief spokesperson Jitendra Singh addressed a press conference at party hqrs at which he said “It seems the Foreign Minister of Pakistan had planned in advance to discuss with Kashmir separatist leaders their viewpoint and receive their inputs before talking to the Indian Foreign Minister, and the UPA leadership facilitated her designs. This has not only made a mockery of the functioning of Indian government but also placed at risk the security of the country. The BJP is seriously concerned to note that at a time when the Kashmir separatist leaders were feeling down and out because of the tremendous diplomatic and security pressure on them, this development had acted as oxygen for their sagging spirit. In addition, it also amounts to a breach of protocol because that the Pak Foreign Minister is going about meeting individuals and groups by her choice, and that the Congress led UPA governent owes an explanation for this.
