Govt to notify policy to encourage PPP in tourism sector: Jora
“Rs. 17.34 crore infrastructure underway at Dodhpathri”

SRINAGAR, July 27:

In order to create tourism related infrastructure facilities at tourist resort Dodhpathri and its vicinity areas 33 works involving estimated cost of Rs. 17.34 crore have been taken up by Dodhpathri Development Authority since 2006-07 till last financial year, of which several works were completed and pace of other works are at different stages with an expenditure of Rs 5.12 crore.
This was given out today in 3rd Dodhpathri Development meeting convened by Tourism and Culture Minister, Nawang Rigzin Jora to review physical and financial achievements registered by the Authority. The meeting also discussed future plans for creating several tourist attractions in the area.
Threadbare discussion was held on agenda points and appropriate decisions taken for holistic development of several tourist spots coming under the jurisdiction of DDA in the meeting.
CEO, DDA presented a power point presentation depicting Physical and financial achievement registered for creation of infrastructure at Dodhpathri and other spots under the authority.
The Meeting was informed that construction work of Rs. 3.26 crore at Tangnar would be completed by the end of this year. While as execution of 20-room budgeted accommodation at Dodhpathri would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.61 crore by December 2012 under Central Fund Assistance.
The meeting was informed that chain link fencing at Parihas and Dodhpathri spots, construction of parking place phase 1st , 3 huts, 8 no shelter sheds, view points, eco-parks , 8 pony sheds at Dodhpathri and pariahs spots have been also completed with an expenditure of Rs 2.32 crore.
The meeting also approved action plan of Rs. 1.75 crore for execution of several new and existing works for current financial year.
Speaking on the occasion Jora underscored the need for creation of tourist related infrastructure in the area. He stressed on the concerned authorities to remove impediments confronting to build environmental friendly infrastructure and development of new spot with close coordination of other department.
Minister of State for Tourism and Culture, Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Khansahib, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, Commissioner Secretary Tourism and Culture Atul Duloo, District Development Commissioner, Budgam, Mohammad Rafi besides senior officers of PHE, PDD, R&B, Forests and other departments attended the meeting.
