5 day exhibition on road accidents concludes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 27: The 5-day long photo exhibition, which concluded here today at Kala Kendra, witnessed overwhelming participation of people from different parts of the State thus making the event a grand success. On the occasion, a two minute silence was observed to pay homage to the accident victims. The exhibition was, earlier, inaugurated by Minister for CAPD, Transport, Qamar Ali Akhoon. On the occasion, the prominent citizens and transporters were present besides people including drivers and conductors visited Kala Kendra to pay tributes to accident victims. Appreciating the initiative of Deputy Transport Commissioner, Bhumesh Sharma, they said that such events create massive awareness among the people. Saying that awareness is imperative to check accidents, Sharma informed that the exhibition was attended by school and college students besides driver and conductors of Tanker’s Association, Truck Association, Auto Union Association and common masses. He said more such exhibitions will be held in future in all districts of the State adding that, efforts are afoot to aware the school and college students through awareness camps, seminars and debates about the impact of road accidents on people and remedial measures as well which will largely help in minimizing the incidents of road mishaps. |
