Father refuse to take custody of dead body
Killing of HM Deputy Divisional Commander Subash Shan
7/28/2011 12:12:01 AM
Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, July 27: It is a fact that killing of Hizbul Mujahideen Deputy Divisional Commander is big jolt for the militant outfit in entire Pir Panjal range due to his influence within the ranks of militants active in the state particularly in Doda-Kishtwar region.
Being a Hindu, he gained both name and fame among the top commanders of various militant outfits operating in Jammu and Kashmir. It was finally the Tuesday morning, when 10 long years stint of Subash Kumar Shan alias Wasif came to end after security forces gun down him in Kukundro area of Nawapachi Marwah.
After the elimination of Subash Kumar Shan, the security forces while following the legal procedure have to handover the dead body to the legal heirs of the slain militant, but his father Jeevan Lal (Ex service man) simply refuse to take the custody of dead body of his slain son only on the pretext that he was a militant and was involved in many heinous crimes including murders.
The family members informed the police that they have already disowned Subash Kumar for his anti-national activities.
After the refusal from the father and brother, the police handed over the dead body of the slain militants to the local people at Nawapachi after conducting the autopsy. The local people after taking the custody of the dead body of the slain militant buried him in Martyr graveyard at Nawpachi Marwah under Islamic tradition which was attended by the large number of local populace.
Being as the close friend of slain HUJI militant alias Dawood, 34 year old Subash Shan joined the militancy in the year 2001after HM top mentor Jehangir Saroori (still active since 1989), Slain HM Commander Moulvi Faiz, former HM Divisional Prince (Presently in jail) along with other top ranked militants brain washed him taking the plea of minor incident in which Subash Shan was reportedly abused by the security personal during a search and cordon operation in the area.
It was after the said incident, Subash Kumar Shan was lured by his friend Dawood to join him and once he came into the militancy fold, he never return back and transformed a simple looking villager to a dreaded militant of the HM outfit. During his 10 years life as a militant, the slain commander reportedly converted into Islam during these years.
Subash Shan first became area commander in the year 2003 and then elevated to District Commander in the year 2007. He took over the rein of HM as its Deputy Divisional Commander of the outfit.
Since the Chief HM Commander Jehangir Saroori goes into hibernation due to his age, Subash took over the full control of the organization and assigned with the job of reviving the militancy in Chenab region by recruiting youth in the militancy ranks. With the killing of the Subash Shan, HM militant outfit in Kishtwar District is under tremendous pressure since the organization is short of both manpower as well as weaponry after security forces in Chenab region eliminated more than 150 top rank commander of both HM and LeT Militant outfit in last two-three years.
