| Shastri Memorial School excels in table soccer | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 27: Shastri Memorial Higher Secondary School brought laurels winning three medals in the Table Soccer Championship held at Golden Bell Public School, Mohali in Chandigarh.
The medal winner students from the school were Ashutosh Zutshi (silver), Preetika Sharma (bronze) and Neetu Rani (bronze). Akhil Badkulia accompanied the team as coach.
Meanwhile, Managing Director of the School, Rajnesh Gupta congratulated the medal winners and appreciated the efforts of the coach.
Table Soccer: Americans first became acquainted with the game of table soccer when US military forces were stationed in post-war Germany. The American soldiers enjoyed the competitiveness of the game and most recreation rooms on military bases had soccer tables. Larry Patterson, a businessman in Cincinnati, Ohio, was the first American to have a soccer table built in Germany for distribution in the United States. The first table introduced called "Foosball in 1962.
