Madan Lal addresses public meets at Bhagwati Nagar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 27: Continuing his public addresses, Madan Lal Sharma, Member Parliament (LS) Jammu Poonch Constituency today addressed largely attended public meeting at Bhagwati-Nagar Jammu. In all his public meetings he took stock of the problems faced by the people and asked the officials accompanying him for their speedy disposal. He also sanctioned a huge amount from MP, LAD on spot for the benefit of the people. Sharma said that we should take up the construction of an overhead bridge from Shakti-Nagar to Tallab Tillo, and will ensure the four laning of road from Bakshi-Nagar Pulley to Akhnoor in view of the increased traffic congestion. Appreciating the efforts of the coalition Govt. he appealed the State Govt. to take all measures for the equitable development of all the tree regions of the State. He said that those having discriminatory attitude should be dealt with strongly. He appreciated the role of Chief Minister for advocating powers to Panchayats and asked the state Govt. to empower Panchayats for empowerment and restoration of confidence at grass root level in the State. Responding to the issue of Central University he agreed that the selection of VC is delayed and informed that he is struggling for its early start and has taken up the matter with union Govt. and at Party Level Meetings also. He assured that VC of Central University shall be appointed soon and if it is not done he will join the students for furtherance of the case. He asked the people to take the benefits of Central schemes especially for the skill development of youth in J&K. Regarding widow pension Sharma asked the Govt. to enhance it and sanction all pending cases. He said that Chief Minister has shown keen interest in this during Distt. Development Board meeting at Jammu and has constituted a committee on it. He asked people to take right decision on right time so that their problems are addressed timely and properly. Among others, Kuldeep Verma, Vice Chairman OBC Advisory Board, Ex MLA, Shiv Dev Singh and large number of local leaders and social activists were present on the occasion.
