Equitable Development primary endeavor of the government: Tara Chand | | | JAMMU, JULY 28 – Underlining development as primary endeavor of the government, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand today said that numerous schemes and ventures have been launched all across the state for equitable development of all the regions and sub-regions of the state.
He said development initiatives taken up by the government would go a long way in addressing aspirations of the people and to make the state a model state of the country.
Mr. Tara Chand was addressing a series of deputations and individuals who had called on him at his residence today.
Minister of State for Co-operatives, Stationary and Supplies Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma led a deputation of people from Billawar area and presented demands with regard to development works in Billawar Town. Delimitation of wards, issue of bus stand and start of new urban development works in municipal committee were among the major demands of the deputation.
Taking note of the issues raised, the Deputy Chief Minister gave on spot instructions to the Director, Local Bodies for immediate redressal of genuine problems being faced by people of the Billawar town.
The deputation of Jammu east constituency was headed by Former Minister Mr. Yogesh Sawhney and included former corporater Ms. Laita Sharma, besides scores of people form the constituency. The deputation presented various demands of their area which inter alia include regularization of pul-par colony, construction of cultural centre at Dewana Mandir, Sports complex at Kanji house, a community centre in Mohalla Paharian and starting sewerage and cross drainage works in pul par area.
While responding to the demands of the deputation, Mr. Tara Chand passed instructions to the concerned authorities for immediate consideration of the legitimate problems and to take a time bound action on the same.
Director, Local Bodies, Jammu Mr. F.C. Bhagat, Vice-Chairman, JDA Mr. Vinod Sharma and senior officers and engineers of JMC and other line departments were present on the occasion.
Deputation from Jammu west included senior leader Mr. Vinod Sharma and other former coporaters and people of the area. They lauded the role Deputy Chief Minister has played in initiating various development works in the constituency and presented various demands of the area.
A deputation of newly elected Sarpanchs and Panches of Raipur-Domana called on Mr. Tara Chand and enlisted various demands of the area for immediate consideration of the government. The deputation presented various development related requirements of the area which include road, power, construction of Shamshan Ghat and provision for safe potable water.
Facilitating the newly elected Panchs and Sarpanchs, the Deputy Chief Minister said that government is committed to empower the Pachayati Raj Institutions so as to strengthen the grass root level democracy in the state, adding that these institutions would be able to address development issues of their areas in a better way.
President, Gandhi Global Family Mr. S.P. Verma and its senior functionaries also called on the Deputy Chief Minister and apprised him of various activities of the Gandhian family at National and State level.
A deputation from R.S. Pura presented demands of the area. The deputation was headed by S. Suchet Singh and called for immediate action on issues of power shortage, unemployment, expanding road network and construction of lanes, drains in the town.
Young Lawyers Association led by its president Adv. Rohan Gupta, Nitin Gupta and others, presented demands with regard to improving and creating new facilities in the High Court Complex.
Later, a deputation of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Education Society, Bari Brahmana also called on Mr. Tara Chand and called for immediate start of construction work for the already sanctioned Dr. Ambedkar Hall. On spot instructions were issued to the concerned officers for taking up the matter at the earliest and to start the work after clearing all formalities at the earliest.
The Deputy Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to demands of the people and assured for redressal of the genuine demands in a time bound manner.
