| Sham directs for making telemedicine centres functional | | | SRINAGAR, JULY 28- While seriously viewing the non-functioning of various Telemedicine Centres installed by the ISRO across the State, Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma has directed the Administrative Department to take remedial measures to make them functional at the earliest.
The Minister was speaking at a review meeting here today, convened to take stock of functioning of Telemedicine Centres of the Health Department. The Minister maintained that the facilities were created to equip our doctors with modern techniques and for quick treatment of serious ailments, but due to poor performance of these techniques, the purpose has been defeated.
On this occasion, power point presentation was made by the representatives of IL&FS Education & Technology Ltd, who intend to launch their projects in the State.
The Minister directed the Mission Director, NRHM and Director Health, Kashmir to study the proposal regarding implementation of National Blindness Control Programme and training ASHAs through telemedicine.
Several senior officers of the Health Department were present on the occasion.
