| IIIrd Division North Zone National Football League 2006 | | | JAMMU | NOV 29 BSF XI, Punjab continued their good performance in the tournament with 2-0 win ovwer their counter-rival Chandigarh, FC and remained top in their group in the ongoing IIIrd Division League National Football Championship being played at Jammu University Football Field here today. Both the teams played outstandingly throughout the first half but unable to score a goal. In the second half Punjab played with tremendous coordination and J. Ouseph struck in the 67th minute with brilliant pass. Kamal in the 81st minute scored an excellent gal to strech the lead further by 2-0. In the second match, U.P. Police registered their excellent victory over Himalayan Tigers in one sided match with 5-0. Athak scored first goal for U.P in the 11th minute of the match. While Ramesh Rabat and Kuldeep Rabat scored goals in the 14th and 34th minute respt. At the first half, U.P. Police wa leading by 3-0. In the second half of the match U.P. Police also remained heavy on their opponents and scored two more goals. Athak scored second goal of the match in the 69th minute while Parmod Mimra scored fifth goal for his team in the 73rd minute. The official in the match were Shambhu Nath Sahu, Varun Saha and Deepak Kumar Dey. Vijay Vakaya, Advosor to CM was the chief guest on the occasion.
