Another Kashmiri Youth falls to militant bullets | | | BARAMULLA: Another youth was killed by unidentified gunmen in apple township of Sopore in this north Kashmir late last night, official sources said here today. They said gunmen fired upon a 30-year-old Mohammad Ashraf Dar at Chanakhan, Sopore, late last night. He was immediately rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead. This was the second killing in Sopore in less than a week. On June 24, one Mohsin Ahmad Wani was shot dead by gunmen. Official sources said police was working on different angles as in the past a Sopore resident was killed by gunmen in Srinagar. However, it was later established that he was killed by three people, including a former militant, who had to return money to him. No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for both the killings. Separatists and mainstream parties have condemned the killings. In another similar incident in south Kashmir, one person was killed by a gunman on the directions of his brother, who was later arrested. A senior police officer had also admitted that surrendered and former militants were being used to settle personnel scores by people. |
