| Youth beaten to death by man, son at Toph | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 28: A youth was mercilessly beaten to death by a man and his son at Toph Sherkhanian here today.
Both the accused had been arrested by police and booked in a murder case, police sources said.
Sources said Jamuna of Uttar Pradesh, who at present lived in a jhugi at Toph Sherkhanian, suspected that his wife had an affair with Santosh Kumar, son of
Hari Ram of Bihar, who too lived in a jhugi close to theirs.
Jamuna yesterday discussed the matter with his father Ram Suraj. Sources said before taking any action against Santosh, they decided to keep a watch on his activities.
As per their plan, the father-son duo laid an ambush near their jhugi last night in wait for Santosh.
Sources said when they noticed him stealithly approaching their juhugi at about 12.30 am, they caught hold of him and then tied him with a rope.
They allegedly kicked him and beat him whole night. The beating was so severe that his internal organs ruptured and he died of internal bleeding in the wee hours of Thursday morning, the sources added.
The area falls under the jurisdiction of Bakshi Nagar police station. After the matter came to its notice, SHO, Inspector Sameer Jeelani rushed to the spot and removed the body to the GMC hospital mortuary. After post-mortem, it was handed over to his family for last rites.
Sources said both the accused were later apprehended by police. A murder case was registered against them. |
