Early Times Report

JAMMU, July 28: Protesting against a "fake" recruitment drive, hundreds of unemployed youth seeking jobs in Border Security Force (BSF) today turned violent and clashed with police, leaving four persons, including a cop, injured here.
The youths had converged at gate of the BSF headquarter at Paloura Top in the outskirts of the city to take part in a recruitment drive, which they claimed was advertised on the Internet.
However, BSF security guards deployed at the gate did not allow them to enter the building saying that there was no recruitment rally by BSF at the campus.Angry youths, who had come from various districts of Jammu region, blocked Jammu-Poonch highway, pelted stones and clashed with the BSF security men.
Police used batons to disperse the protesters. Four persons, including a policeman, were injured."
The youths had come for a recruitment rally of BSF today.
However, there was no rally at all. We confirmed it from BSF officials," Additional SP, Rajesh Sharma told reporters.
"They were assured of a probe into issue. Those involved will be punished," he said.
The protesters claimed that a BSF recruitment form was floated on the Internet for the rally. "We were shocked to know that there was no rally at all," one of the youths said and demanded a probe.
As soon as the news of cancellation of recruitment rally was heard by all job aspirants they came in contact with NPSU leaders. NPSU leaders, without wasting time reached the spot under the leadership of Atul Soodan (Provincial Secretary, NPSU) on watching the anti-aspirants attitude of BSF authorities they immediately contacted the media persons and the whole story of notorious activity of BSF activity was shown to the media.
Atul Sudan said that this cruel joke with unemployed youth was a well planned strategy of the BSF authorities just to collect money from them and it was not the first time that cruelty on job seekers has been witnessed
Partap Singh Jamwal (Provincial President, NPSU) alleged that BSF authorities had notified for the recruitment and also charged fees for recruitment in the shape of a Bank Draft and IPOs and declared July 28 as day of recruitment drive but they suddenly changed their plans not to organize recruitment rally today and heavily lathi charged innocent candidates.
Jamwal condemned the whole scene of brutality with unemployed youths and said that State Government is fully responsible for the incident.
