Workshop on “Life style choices and Emerging concerns” organized | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 29: A one Day Workshop on “Life Style Choices and Emerging Concerns” was organised jointly by IQAC of GDC, Udhampur in collaboration with Department of Lifelong Learning University of Jammu, Jammu in the college conference hall. Ashok K Gupta, IPS, Director Sher- e – Kashmir Police Academy, Udhampur was the chief guest. Inaugurating the workshop, he gave a detailed speech on the changing lifestyle patterns in the modern developing world and the resultant issues. He appreciated the college for organizing awareness programmes. “In the age of information technology revolution we need to adopt such lifestyle which leads to more happiness and less despair,” he added. Prof (Dr.) Poonam Dhawan, Director Department of Lifelong learning, University of Jammu presided over the programme. “In the wake of technological revolution, individual responsibility has increased so there is a need to develop consciousness, scientific temper, guilt commitment and build capacity and competence to achieve the desired goals,” she said. Prakash Premi , a noted writer ,academician and senior citizen highlighted the change of old value structure and the emerging social and moral ethics. Dr. Deepak Kumar, Deputy Superintendent District Hospital gave a talk on health care concerns in the modern times. He touched various facets of healthy life style choices. Prof. Sudhir Singh, convener IQAC threw light on the theme of the workshop Prof. G.R. Verma proposed formed vote of thanks. Dr. Bharti from JU, Prof. Tara Nath, Prof. Suresh Kumar, Prof. Romesh Chander Sharma were prominent among the others present.
