| Sportspersons honoured , Raj’s efforts hailed | | | BHADARWAH, Nov 29 The sports activities in Doda district received a fillip with the posting of a Jai Raj as District Youth Services and Sports Officer. Lauding his role, the people of the area at a meeting held to honour the players who brought laurels for the district in various sports events said ever since Raj joined in the district the sports activities received a great fillip adding that it was for the first time that players of the district won the inter-district Athletics championship held at MAM Stadium at Jammu and bagged 23 medals including five gold, nine silver and equal number of bronze medals under the age group of 14-17 for both boys and girls .Rashid Hussain of Higher Secondary School Boys won two gold medals in Hammer throw, Surjeet Singh won one gold medal in discuss throw while Ajay Kumar won one gold and one silver in high jump and 4x100 meters rally. Expressing his satisfaction over the good performance of the players, Youth Service and sports officer hoped that the players would perform well in the coming events. The meeting was presided over by Nisar Ahmed Gattu Physical teacher and Mushatq Ahmed. Prizes and certificates of merits along with mementos were distributed among the winners.
