‘Kashmir: Road To Peace’ begins on Saturday

Srinagar, July 29 (KNS): A one day seminar “Kashmir: Road To Peace” organized by New-Delhi based Centre for Policy Analysis (CPA) would be held at SP Higher Secondary School here tomorrow.
Five parliament members and other politicians including separatist leaders are participating in it. MPs Arjun Roy (JDU), Mohammad Saleem (CPI-M), Aziz Pasha (CPI), Shameem Farooqi (CPI) and Shahid Sidiqui (RLD) are expected to address the seminar.
The CPA is active on Kashmir since last year’s civil unrest and has involved various non-UPA and non-NDA political parties in the discourse to mobilize public support for resolution of Kashmir issue.
Hurriyat Conferee (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani who has also been invited by the organizers has accepted the invitation on the condition that he will not share the dice with mainstream leaders, sources told KNS.
Meanwhile, invitations to all the mainstream leaders including Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah, opposition Peoples Democratic Party patron Mufti Muhammad Sayed, Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Hasan Mir, Minister for PHE Taj Mohiudin, state secretary CPI (M) M Y Tarigami and MLA Hakim Muhammad Yasin, have already been sent.
Kamal Mitra Chenoi and Anuradha Chenoy Zahir-ud-Din Khan, a journalist, Sajjad Gani Lone, Prof Abdul Gani Bhat and Shabir Ahmad Shah are also expected to participate in the seminar as invitations have been sent to them.
The CPA organized one such meet outside Constitutional Club near Parliament House in New-Delhi on February 2 this year which was addressed by a galaxy of speakers.
