CBI books 3 for cheating SBI

Jammu, July-29 (JNF):- Central Bureau of Investigation/Anticorruption Bureau Jammu registered a case for cheating State Bank of India Jammu to the tune of Rs 1, 21, 51, 849 on the basis of false documents.

According to the case that Amardeep Sharma, Pawan Kumar and Mohinder Singh in connivance with unknown bank officials of State Bank of India Zonal Office Jammu and SBI Kalu Chak committed the offence of cheating and forgery by using forged documents and by abuse of their official position caused undue loss to the bank and undue gain to the loanees as the loan subsequently turned NPA (Non-Performing Assets).
According to the FIR that M/S Amardeep Sharma and Company is partnership concerned of three partners namely Amardeep Sharma, Pawan Kumar and Mohinder Singh who applied for a CC limit to the tune of Rs 125.5 lacs and term loans of Rs 4.50 lacs in favour of their firms vide application dated March 13, 2007 for expanding their business activities.
It is alleged in the FIR that the concerned Branch Manager and CPC (credit processing cell) Team also did not make any pre-sanctioned visit to verify the genuineness of collateral properties as required before the sanction of CC Limit. The Loan proposal of CC limit for 1.25 crores and term loan of Rs 4.50 lacs was sanctioned by the Zonal Office SBI RASMECCC (Retail Assets Small & Medium City Credit Cell), Jammu on the basis of recommendation of Bank Officers. The loan facilities were used by the partners of M/S Amar Deep Sharma & Company for their own end and more repayment was made to the bank as a result of which the loan terms NPA on May 11, 2009 with an outstanding balance of Rs 1, 21, 51, 849/- and a case u/s 120-B/420/467/468/471 RPC and 5(1)(d) r/w 5(2) of J&K PC Act 2006 against Amardeep Sharma, Pawan Kumar and Mohinder Singh, Dr. SP Tayal Approved valuer and some unknown bank officials of SBI Zonal Office Jammu and SBI Kaluchak Branch Jammu and investigation is started.
