| Occupation of parks by SF explodes normality myth | | | Jammu, July 29 : Exploding normality `myth’ authorities have declared parks out of bounds for people for security reasons. Walking and playing on this ground is prohibited" a sign board put up by the Department of Floriculture in one of the parks in posh Gandhi Nagar area clearly warn the visitors against stepping in.
Ironically, in the same park jawans of para military forces have pitched up at least three big tents accommodating around one dozen security personnel without evoking a response from Department of Floriculture.
This is not the only park where security men have encroached. VIP's who live in posh areas across Jammu have directed the security personnel to pitch tents outside their houses preferably inside public parks.
The issue has been raised with the concerned repeatedly without results. But now with security situation showing signs of improvement several local residents have started voicing their concern against `misuse’ of public parks by the VIPs.
Now it remains to be seen whether the concerned authorities who normally uproot poor man and challan them for encroaching upon pavements and main roads will do something concrete or continue to stay mum and keep their eyes shut even while jogging in the same parks.
