Unidentified Gunman embedded ally of NC: PDP Latest Sopore Killing condemned | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, July 29: Peoples’ Democratic Party has strongly condemned the killing of Mohd Ashraf, a laborer in Sopore town of north Kashmir. In a statement issued here, the party said such crimes wouldn’t be tolerated and the present government has completely failed to secure and safeguard the lives of the people. The spokesman said on the one hand the number of unaccounted killings is on the rise and on the other hand allegations of excesses and atrocities are multiplying as is evident from recent incidents of Manzgam, Pattan and repeated killings in Sopore. “Unidentified gunman seems to be an embedded ally of NC” he said referring to their activation particularly in NC rule. A party spokesman said there is a general collapse of security and the National Conference government has completely failed to bring justice to the people responsible for crimes against defenseless individuals. Referring to Sopore as a town of targeted violence in view of unending killings there, the party said, “NC government failed to curb the killing and also in proper investigation to bring the culprits under law”. Sympathizing with the family member of the victim, the party said no words could compensate the loss of the poor family. He urged government to pay adequate compensation for their rehabilitation.
