| Arrangements for Independence day, Kailash-Machail yatras reviewed | | | JAMMU, JULY 29-In view of forthcoming Independence day celebration, District Development Commissioner Doda, Farooq Ahmed Khan, today convened a meeting of district and sectoral officers to review the arrangements.
During the meeting, it was decided that the main function will be organized in Sports Stadium Doda and in case of bad weather the function will be organized in District Police Lines Doda where VVIP will hoist the tricolour and take the salute at the march past by contingents of JKP, JKAP, FPF, CRPF, NCC and School children.
It was decided that a colourful cultural programme will also be presented by the school children on the occasion.
The DDC directed Chief Education Officer Doda and District Youth Services and Sports Officer Doda to make necessary arrangements for cultural programme.
Various other issues and arrangements were also discussed in the meeting like security, health care, drinking water facility, sanitation, illumination of government establishments, screening committees for selection of cultural items, electric supply etc.
Different committees for looking after various arrangements for Independence Day were also constituted.
While reviewing the arrangements, the DDC impressed upon all the departments to work in a coordinated manner and put in place all the necessary arrangements well in time for successful celebration of the National Festival.
Later, the DDC also reviewed necessary arrangements for smooth and peaceful conduct of Annual Kailash Yatra and Machail Yatra.
