Nashiman Blues wins Police-Public football tourney | | | SRINAGAR, July 29: Nashiman Blues clinched the Police-Public Football Tournament trophy outplaying Nashiman Reds by three goals to two in the final played at District Police Lines in Anantnag, here. The winners, Nashiman Blues were awarded a cash prize of Rs 20,000 while runners-up team got Rs 10,000 from the organizers, District Police Anantnag. Both the teams were also presented medals and track suits. Young Club remained third in the final standing while Sidiqi Club finished fourth. Both these teams were also awarded suitably by the organizers. In addition, Friends Club was named as best emerging side of the tournament. In the final and prize distribution function, District and Sessions Judge Anantnag was chief guest. Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag and Brigadier of 1st Sector RR as also other senior civil, army, CRPF and police officers were among those witnessed the final. In all, 24 teams belong to the district took part in this knock-out event. Earlier, the tournament was declared open by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, SKR on June 12.
