Intach club launched in Jodhamal School | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July 30: In yet another milestone Jodhamal Public school has become the first school in Jammu to introduce the prestigious Young INTACH Club. INTACH is the largest non-profit organization which is dedicated to conservation and sustainability under the purview of Archeological Survey of India. This club sensitizes the public through festivals, exhibitions, heritage walks and cultural shows. INTACH is already doing extensive restoration work in Jammu at Chotti Deodi and Baddi Deodi in Mubarak Mandi. It has also successfully restored the Darbar Hall popularly known as the Grey Hall, a property of the erstwhile rulers of Jammu. The students of Jodhamal Public School had a very informative and interactive session with the distinguished guests from the Jammu Chapter S. Sahni, convenor and H. C. Katoch, an eminent life member who enlightened the students about the rich heritage of the city and the tasks undertaken by INTACH. The Principal of the school, Krishna Bhati in her address felicitated the young INTACH members of her school and encouraged them to contribute to the conservation of the country’s incredible past. The students were presented with badges bearing INTACH Logo and special INTACH passports and notepads. The launching of this new club in Jodhamal has created a sense of great excitement among Jodhamal students who are all set to join hands with the Jammu INTACH Chapter and take care of the Heritage monuments in the city.
