Municipal Commissioner conducts extensive tour of city | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 30:
Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Commissioner, SC Sawhney along with a team of officers comprising Chief Enforcement Officer, Enforcement Officers, Assistant Enforcement Officers and field staff of Enforcement Wing undertook an extensive day long tour of different areas of city. The team visited Rehari Colony, Sarwal, New Plot, Old Janipur, Janipur, Paloura, Lower Roop Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Trikuta Nagar Extension, Marble Market, Deeli etc and inspected the ongoing construction works there in order to ascertain whether they are conforming to building plans approved by JMC or not. At lower Roop Nagar the ongoing unauthorized construction of four no’s of shops were demolished on spot. The construction which were found going on not in accordance with the Building Plans approved by the JMC were got stopped and the equipments used for the construction were confiscated on spot and the builders were instructed to raise the constructions as per approved building plans. Besides this, the goods / articles kept by the shopkeepers / vendors by encroaching upon footpaths / pavements were also seized like Furniture Items, Batteries, Paint Goods, Tyers, Chairs, Tables, Almirhas, Jacks etc from these areas in order to clear the footpaths / pavements from encroachments for the convenience of the pedestrians.
Further, the Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to the General Public to refrain from making illegal constructions and get building plans whether commercial / residential approved from Jammu Municipal Corporation otherwise action as admissible under rule leading to demolition of the building will be taken.
