Khoda inaugurates North India Taekwondo championship | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, July 31:
Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda inaugurated North India Taekwondo championship at Indoor Sports Stadium here today. The championship was organized by J&K Taekwondo Board in which thousands of students, staff and players associated with the championship were present. 300 students from outside the State besides more than 450 players are participating in junior, sub-junior and senior categories of the championship. Speaking on the occasion, Khoda said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has remained on the forefront to provide assistance to the NGOs and other organizations working for the promotion of the sports. He stressed that other organizations should also come forward to promote such activities and facilitate an integrated sports environment in the State. Director of Information, Renzushah, who is Chief Patron of the Board said that by taking part in these events, the budding sportsmen can make their future with competing at national and international level and bring name of the State as well as country in the sports field. He said our children can promote the knowledge about the culture of the State, besides peace message will go to other states through the participants. The other speakers which include, the Director News, Regional News Unit, D D Kenda, Srinagar Bashir Malik, Director SSG Service, J P Singh and S S Channi also threw light on the importance of marshal art in the present life. They also highlighted the aim for organizing 3-day championship at Srinagar.
