Rs 24.91 cr earmarked for Chandmari-Barjalla road: Bhalla

JAMMU, July 30:

Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla on Saturday said that the government has formulated Rs 24. 91 crore project for the four lanning of Chandmari-Barjala road in Satwari area, on the city outskirts.
Minister who visited the area today, asked the revenue officials to start the demarcation of the road to facilitate the up-gradation work.
District Development Commissioner, Jammu Sanjeev Verma besides other senior officers of Revenue and R&B accompanied the Minister during the visit to the area.
Earlier, the minister visited Bhour Camp area where he asked the DDC to fence 15 kanal state land to protect it from the habitual encroachers, He said the piece of land has been identified for the construction of Kissan Bhawan. He warned the illegal occupants to vacate encroached Government land voluntarily, otherwise face legal action.
Bhalla said that a massive anti-encroachment drive has been launched across the start to vacate the state land on which the government was planning to construct offices, schools, recreational parks, tube wells and other public assets.
At Chatha Kullain village, Mr. Bhalla asked the DDC to release funds under National Calamity Relief Fund for laying crated embankments along the marshy land.
At Bhour Kothey, the Minister took serious note of the slow pace of work on the construction of vented causeway over Landoi Choi nallah and approached road to the village. He asked the concerned authorities to revise the allotment of works and issue fresh orders so that the construction works could be completed well in time.
Later, Bhalla visited Narwal Bala Naveen Shiksha Academy and Rajiv
Nagar and listened the development related demands of the residents.
The residents demanded adequate and timely stocks of ration, construction of community hall, dispensary, pension to old aged, widows and physically challenged people of the area, upgradation of lanes and drains, removal of garbage from nallah, construction of Rajiv Nagar-Rahim Nagar link road besides construction of bathing ghat (Tootian).
