MFP project, NGO Peace organise Vanmahotsava

JAMMU, July 30:

With a view to popularize the plantation of medicinal plant species the M.F.P project Jammu in association with an NGO Peace celebrated Vanamahotsava near Sankri Devta in Pancheri area.
On the occasion, organisers distributed medicinal plant species among people and planted saplings nesr Sankri Devta Devsthan Panchari districts Udhampur.
The project officer M.F.P Jammu Rakesh Abrol highlighted the increasing use of Herbal products is worth wide. He informed that in India the market of Herbal product is worth Rs 7000 crores. The world market for herbal and allied product is increasing day by day and is expected to touch $ 5 trillion by year 2050.
Narinder Sharma president of NGO Peace lauded the role of forest department in spreading the awareness about plantation of useful plant species by which not only the purpose of environmental conservation is served but also the surrounding population can reap benefits from the usufructs of such plantations.
He appealed to the govt. to conduct more and more such programs so that the tree cover of the country increases which inturn would bring prosperity and peace in the country.
The prominent among those who also addressed the gathering include Prabhat Singh (Sarpanch), Baldev Singh (Sarpanch), Gopal Krishan Komal (Writer), Mangat Ram (Lamberdar), Gopal Singh, Parkash Singh, Angrez Singh , Basant Ram, Kuldeep Sharma, Sandla Devi and Mahatam Singh
